Yin Yoga
A relaxed or passive yoga practice consisting of floor postures held for three to five minutes at a time. It is the ideal complement to more muscular or “Yang” forms of Yoga. A Yin practice emphasizes the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. In this way it prepares the body and the mind for longer meditation practices. By drawing the student’s awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved. This healing practice works to rejuvenate deeper tissues, allow time for finding individual comfort in poses and is a great preparation for seated meditation. Suitable for all levels.
Yin-Restorative
A yoga class designed to progress from small movements like an infant on the floor to holding passive yin postures and restorative postures with props against the wall and on the floor. Great for balance, flexibility and circulation; relief of stress, stiff muscles and aching joints. This is a safe and slow moving class fit for beginner students new to physical activity, senior citizens and for those recovering from injury or illness. This is also a great class for those that are really active and would like to restore their body. Suitable for all fitness levels.
