Practicing & Teaching Advanced Inversions

This practical, experiential and safe yoga class will begin with Surya Namaskar (sun salutations) and additional warming Hatha Yoga practices to prepare the body and mind for an advanced sadhana.  You will explore such asanas as headstand and its numerous variations, scorpion, shoulderstand and its numerous variations, as well as handstand.  Sirshasna, headstand, is considered the king of all asanas and its benefits are vast.  Sarvangasana, shoulderstand, is considered to be the queen of all asanas and it too has powerful effects on your psyche.  You will learn their benefits and how to safely guide these during your regular asana classes while assisting each other during this session.  This session is open to anyone with a desire to physically and mentally embrace this royal pair.
