Doug Kreitzer has been practicing Yoga since a friend in college took him to a class and afterward played one of the best soccer games of his life. During the game “I felt like I was running on air,” Doug said. He was then drawn to spirituality through intense feelings of love and auspicious moments of synchronicity, where he would be thinking something and then he’d see the same word on a sign or hear a word on the radio at the same time. It happened so often that he knew something was up and that someone was trying to reach him. So he began exploring, reading about different spiritual philosophies and visiting churches and while doing this fell in love with the non-religious, physical, spiritual and mental science of Yoga. Through Doug’s study, he found a lot of the same messages and moral codes in nearly every philosophy/religion which can be enhanced through the practice of yoga. For Doug, yoga is his spiritual practice or “religion.”
A yoga teaching singer/songwriter who played with the rock n' roll band Rookie for over 8 years. With spiritually themed lyrics tied into everyday folk tales and love songs, the music is delivered with rock, reggae, hip-hop and even country and western influences. Doug believes that music is a great instrument of peace even if it is loud and rockin'! And you're sure to find his yoga classes inspirational, innovative and a rockin' good time!
Words of Joy from Doug:
“I have not attained enlightenment yet, but I must have touched some level of samadhi (supreme bliss) because I have been so joyful lately that I just laugh and smile for 5 minutes straight over nothing but the joy that lives in my own heart and within everyone's heart for that matter. My music, my yoga, and my life just keep getting better thanks to the God that I am in love with.”
