Mary Beth King

Mary Beth King came to the practice of yoga by what seemed to be an accident, but alas, the universe knew better. She came to World Peace Yoga for a World Peace Diet Study Group in hopes that she was not the only vegan in all of Cincinnati. She swore she'd never practice yoga and just wanted other vegans to hang out with. But, when summer came she needed a free field trip to add to her Girl Scout camp staff training and decided to take the group to the free yoga class at Burnet Woods sponsored by World Peace. Her first yoga class was that field trip; 40 women piling out of 15-passenger vans for free yoga in the park. After that summer of directing camp, yoga became a wonderful addition to her life, and with the camp director inside her, becoming a yoga teacher seemed to be a perfect fit.

Working with youth and training adults has been a large part of Mary Beth's background. She has taught high school color-guard, led trainings for camp professionals and staff, and directed kids summer camps for 9 years. She is also assisting with the development of a youth curriculum for the book "Sophia and the Seven Goddesses" by Beverly Danusis.  Mary Beth is a certified Laughter Yoga Leader and completed the 300-hour yoga certification & Prenatal Teacher Training programs offered at World Peace Yoga. She also has completed the Color Me Yoga kids weekend training & is working on her 200-hour kids yoga certification.

Mary Beth is the creator Sweet Peace Bakery, a vegan bakery out of her home that supplies local stores in Cincinnati. She can be reached at marybeth@sweetpeacebakery.com for all your baking and sweet treat delights.
