Anna Ferguson graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Her knowledge of yoga and style of teaching is derived from many yoga practices, including that of ahimsa, non-violence and years of education with gifted teachers, master yoga practitioners and gurus. In addition to outside experience, Anna has pursued her own creative research, study and personal practice. During college Anna was introduced to yoga & completed a 200-hour Ashtanga-Vinyasa course. She continued on to do a 500-hour yoga teacher-training course in 2002, studying extensively with Doug Swenson, a 300-hour Jivamukti Yoga teacher training in 2009 guided by Sharon Gannon and David Life & a host of other talented yoga teachers, a 20-hour Yin yoga course and 60-hour Yoga-Anatomy teacher training with Paul Grilley and a prenatal/postnatal and kids yoga certification.
Anna is the director of the World Peace Yoga Teacher Training/Certification programs which she has been offering since 2003. Based on the 300-hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training offered at WPY, she also developed a Yoga Alliance recognized certification program for Cincinnati State; one of the first colleges in the country to offer such a unique program. She is the creator of World Peace Yoga, a style of yoga which inspires peace in action & developing intuition.
Anna is eternally grateful for her dear friend & mentor Mark Stroud and for the dedicated spiritual activists Will & Madeleine Tuttle - all inspiring individuals that dedicate their lives to serving others. Will Tuttle's book, The World Peace Diet has greatly influenced & brought another level of enthusiasm to the many activities Anna and World Peace is involved with.
Anna continues to be a student and learn from many wonderful individuals, especially those that attend her classes. She feels incredibly blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.
While much of Anna's time is spent in Cincinnati, OH, she is frequently at World Peace Yoga in Healdsburg, CA and conducts workshops across the country.
Some of Anna's favorite quotes:
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mahatma Gandhi
"No one can do yoga. Yoga is who you are. It is your natural state. What we can do are practices that reveal to us our resistance to existing in a natural state." -Jivamukti Yoga
